We are looking for a talented Sales Manager to grow our business while conduct the day-to-day sales and market activity to drive revenue, through account management, new business, and prospecting while building awareness of the hotel and brand in the local community.

The Sales Manager is responsible for development and fostering new group and catering business through pro-active direct sales, marketing, telemarketing, direct mail, appointment calls and tours of the hotel. They Also develops strategic action plans for hotels to drive measurable, incremental group catering and sales revenue. Identify areas of opportunity in performance and recommend tools and sales training to optimize performance of sales team. Manage all in-house groups and events from start to finish. Responsibility and dedication to drive, meet and exceed budget group and catering sales. Work with individual hotel teams to identify skill development areas and properly deploy sales and marketing resources. This is a non-exempt (hourly paid) position.

Experience in Hilton Preffered.

Primary duties:

Oversight of local corporate transient, group sales and group catering.

Make sales calls to new and existing customers. Establish and maintain close contact and good rapport with target accounts through a variety of methods. Assess their current and future needs.

Cultivate lead sources. Network with fellow Sales Managers on leads.

Complete administrative documentation in the sales system in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain accurate contract files.

Coordinate with Front Desk to fulfill commitments and any special Guest requests, VIP packages, promotions, and showroom keys.

Provide Manager on Duty coverage/tasks in the absence of other management and as scheduled or required for business needs including weekends, evenings and or Holidays.

Maintains reference and training material necessary for performing company processes.

Assist in preparing proposals, contracts, and follow up on incoming leads from meeting broker or phone within 4 hours.

Create, update, and maintain sales & catering files for the Sales office, Front Desk, Kitchen Cooks & Banquet staff.

Produce accurate and timely reports that meet the needs of the business.

In collaboration with the hotel management, conduct any walk-in or scheduled tours for social group blocks and corporate/group potential clients.

Ensure group reservations are properly set up with clear notes and billing requirements.

Delegate group and event tasks to appropriate team members across departments to promote collaboration, expand knowledge, and improve workload efficiency.

Processes group billing/folios and ensures they are accurate, balanced and paid in a timely manner.

Develop and maintain rapport with competitor hotels, City Convention and Visitor's Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, lead sources, and Clients.

Participate in community activities and Guest events.

Participate in the development of a Marketing Plan, and perform all Sales tasks and goals as outlined in the Plan.

Prepare sales figures and reports as directed.

Revenue management

Qualify leads and prospects gained from cold calls, sales blitzes, and other sources.

Carry out any reasonable request by Management and Management Company.

Education/Experience

  • A four-year college degree is preferred, however any combination of education and training within the hotel.
  • 2-year hotel sales experience preferred.
  • Maintain production standards
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required, College Degree is preferred
  • STS Experience helpful
  • Passionate and skilled at business development and hunting for new revenue sources
  • Disciplined in managing their sales activities utilizing a CRM platform.
  • Excellent communication skills including active listening and the ability to probe for details that will close a sale.
  • Knowledgeable about the industry, the area, and your hotel; ability to use this knowledge to close a sale.
  • Able to work a varied schedule including holidays, weekends, and nights as the business dictates
